About the Doctor
Dr. Allison Bober (Dr. B) graduated
from the University of California Davis, School
of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She has an
undergraduate degree, also from UC Davis, in
Animal Science and Managerial Economics.
She spent her first year out of school at a cattle/
small ruminant exclusive practice. The next 6
years were spent in small animal practices in
Arizona and Washington. Her general prac-
tice philosiphy is to advocate for the best care
of the patient, to avoid needless pain and suf-
fering. She is currently a licensed and accred-
ited veterinarian in the states of Washington
and Arizona. Dr. B lives on Bainbridge Island
with her husband Grey, and 3 dogs and 3 cats.
Working Ethics
My goal is to provide quality veterinary care in the comfort of your own home and/or barn. There are many reasons to chose home veterinary care for your companion animals, such as decreased fear, anxiety and decrease of stress associated with travel. Many animals that have been deemed aggressive in the hospital setting respond well to at-home-care. At home care is also valuable for owners/care takers who lack reliable transportation, or that have difficulty in moving around easily. The movement of livestock is time, labor, and equipment extensive for small farm owners. Mobile veterinary care can free up time in what is otherwise an all day adventure for many small farmers.
My focus is on preventative care- giving your puppy, kitten, lamb, cria, ect... the best possible start. Then continuing that care on an annual schedule. Also providing geriatric care- trying to catch the disease processes of aging animals early- to provide the best long term care, comfort, and quality of life. This is often accomplished through routine monitoring of laboratory assessed bodily functions, proper nutrition and supplementation, and if required, long term medications.
I will always advocate for the best care of your furred family members. There will be some cases best handled in a hospital environment, and I will be honest and upfront with you if I feel your pet requires more care than I can provide at home. In certain cases I can also assist owners in getting their companion to the closest veterinary center. I will work with my patients, and their care takers, to find a regimen that is good for everyone involved.
